Richard D. 'Moose' Kincaid

Richard D. “Moose” Kincaid, 65, of Franklin, former Shelbyville resident, passed away at Otterbein Senior Community in Franklin on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.

Born Nov. 14, 1952, in Shelbyville, he was the son of James L. Kincaid and Mary Catherine (Thurman) Kincaid.

Richard is survived by daughter, Brandi (husband, William) Becker, of Indianapolis; sons, Michael (wife, Amanda) Kincaid, of Shelbyville, and Craig Kincaid, of Shelbyville; two sisters, Mary Alford, of Ossian, Indiana, and Sandra K. (husband, Charles) Scott, of Mitchell; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and stepchildren, Stacey (husband, Jeff) Lewis and Amy Jo Gilles, of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Georgia Lee.

Richard was a lifetime resident of the area, and had been a factory worker at Knauf Fiberglass for 36 years, retiring in 2011. He also owned and operated Kincaid’s Tilling Service for 15 years.

He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1972, and was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Shelbyville.

Moose enjoyed working his lawn care business, working on his truck, playing cards and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with visitation there from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, and the Rev. David Humphrey will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of the funeral home.
