Linda L. McCoy

Linda L. McCoy, 76, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018.

She was born July 2, 1941, in Shelby County, Indiana, the daughter of Paul and Pauline Hatton Swift. Linda was a 1959 graduate of Manilla High School. On Aug. 6, 1961, she married Gene H. McCoy at the Kingston Presbyterian Church.

Linda was a mother and housewife and retired from Wal-Mart after 14 ½ years.

She was a member of the Greensburg First Baptist Church, the Auxiliary of Gideons International, and was a charter member of the Decatur County Gideons Auxiliary. She was a member of the Decatur County Historical Society and Right to Life. She was a former Sunday school teacher, youth worker, pianist and organist. She served on the Gideons International State Cabinet for four years as well the local Decatur County Gideons offices, American Heart Association, was a Red Cross volunteer, and raised funds for Easter Seals.

Survivors include her husband, Gene H. McCoy, of Greensburg; daughters, Julia McCoy (Paul M.) Ewer, of Noblesville, and Jill McCoy, of Indianapolis; brother, Larry L. (Pam) Swift, of Nashville, Tennessee; nieces, Gretchen (Rich) Kalonick, of Nashville, and Rebecca Swift, of Brentwood, Tennessee; great-niece, Polly Kalonick, of Nashville; and great-nephew, Pete Kalonick, of Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Greensburg First Baptist Church, 209 W. Washington St, Greensburg, on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Cliff Bunch will be officiating.

Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery.
