Golden Bears drop high-scoring road contest at Whiteland

The Shelbyville boys’ basketball team dropped a road contest at Whiteland on Saturday. The Golden Bears fell 85-74 to move to 14-7 this season with three games left on the schedule.

This week, the team is at Delta on Friday and at Morristown on Saturday. Shelbyville will wrap up its regular season on Feb. 22 at home against Batesville.

On Saturday against Whiteland, the Golden Bears trailed 24-12 after the first quarter. The team would trail by 13 at halftime and 11 at the end of the third quarter en route to the loss.

Shelbyville junior guard Zach Kuhn led the Shelbyville scoring effort with 31 points. Senior guard Cooper Lewis, who led the team in scoring Friday, added 17. Senior Brock Blackwell and junior Josh Williams each scored 13 points.
